And the summer is finally here.

However, so is heat stroke.

Note to self: Wear a hat playing golf out there in the heat, around noon, you stupid, practically bald woman. Otherwise you will not only scorch your scalp, but boil your brain too. Whatever there is left of it. And let's be honest: You ain't got too much to spare.

No, sunglasses really don't count as a hat, not even if you keep thinking that they're almost like a hat. That is the kind of wishful thinking universe doesn't give a shit about. And if you say it out loud, people will just laugh. So keep quiet about this and wear a fokken hat.

So is life. Get on board.

Ugh. Summer is here in Kansas too. High of 104 yeaterday. Amazingly not a record!

Ha! No, shades definitely won't do, and with your paleness you should wear one of those hats that look like ufo from the top.

But keep playing golf, it's good for your, very calming.

I don't know. This golf thing is sounding more and more dangerous. Plus the wine does not go well with the heat...

wv: trotop: the easy peasy hat that you never forget to wear. You just tro it on top of your head.

P.S. 94˚F here today, high humidity. Thunderstorms tonight. Nice.

Yes, I feel the literal pain of this as I burnt my scalp earlier this month for same exact reason, though mine involved canoeing, not golf. Why do we have to be so pasty? And I am trying to catch up on all my blog reading as I went all analog for the last two days with my birthday-palooza.

the key is to sit under the shade of the golf cart, then you don't get sunburned...

I try to stay out of the direct sun a lot because I hate the smell of sunscreens and don't want to wear it. Coworkers make fun of my "paper white legs" and I just tell them that someday they'll have skin cancer so "I'm proud to be pale, baby!"

Sunglasses could work if you put enough pairs on top of your head at once... On the other hand, the hat might be simpler.

Or visit CT, it just won't stop raining here.

Ouch, you must get a bandage and wrap it round your entire head for sun protection, cut out holes for eyes/nose/mouth and you're sorted

I look like a loon in a hat. I'm not trying to put you off the whole hat wearing or anything...

of course, i read the other comments after i comment (bad habit)...but love cyndy's WV. tro it on the top of your head...just the kinda joke i was in the mood for...i think cyndy may just have earned herself an invitation to the balderdash blog.

my WV: ephisiv - when you spell a completely other word than the one you meant to spell and it sticks, thereby making you look like an idiot.

i would actually have thought spud would recommend a wig, in light of today's post on her blog...

(yup, still reading the other comments)

Amanda - Still hot here too. Only we do celsius.

Polly - I need calming...? Moi, the picture of decorum and peace?

Cyndy - I might just crochet myself a trotop while I'm being all crafty.

VEG - Pasty is pasty does. Brain still scorched or was it boiled...

rxBambi - Golf cart? We carry our own equipment. Since, after all, it is supposedly a 'sport'.

Sara - Thanks for the tip. Have about 5 pairs of sunglasses with me, but no hat...

kat - Will be returning to SA on Friday, so we'll see how I feel then.

Spudballoo - Would take care of bad hair day/ a case of ugly on the same go.

Seaside Girl - Ditto. Sadly.

julochka, julochka & julochka - I don't mind. I'll feel just that much more loved, since I'll have lots of comments...

MAWB - Welcome! Thanks and thanks for the link. I'll see what I can find out.
